RAPIDLY MOVING SITUATION-WE HAVE MOMENTUM
Hi All
We wanted to update you as this is a fast moving situation. It looks like the legal and public pressure we are exerting is having the desired impact. Less than 24 hours from putting the council on notice of legal action, the Senior Planning Enforcement officer, Robin Currie, contacted our legal team. He has informed us that he will recommend to Vattenfall that Felling on site ceases as a precautionary measure whilst further information/evidence is obtained.
This is a hugely important development and it is the first time that the council has intervened in this matter. The momentum is swinging in our favour. However, given the appallingly disrespectful way in which Vattenfall have operated so far, we have no faith that they will comply with the Council’s recommendations. Therefore, we will of course be visiting the site to see if they have indeed stopped.
If Vattenfall haven’t, then we expect the council to escalate the issue to formal action immediately. If they do not, then they know they will face legal action from us.
We have been fighting for years and this is a real and tangible breakthrough. We will be increasing our presence and surveillance and our legal team will ensure that the council do not avoid taking the action necessary to stop the reckless forestry operations.
Let us never forget, this is the rarest feline on earth and it is a crucial time in the breeding season. We keep fighting and applying pressure. Now is the time to dig even deeper and increase our efforts and the pressure, so that the wildcats get the protection they deserve.
We are gaining traction and we don’t plan to take our foot off the gas. We have also found out just this morning, that the Police want to meet with us to discuss our wildlife crime report further. We will show them the full dossier of evidence and present the most compelling case possible.
Please keep supporting this fight. Nature must win over corporate greed and government incompetence. So many times Nature loses out. This time it must win. You can support us as you have always done at:

We will of course keep you posted on developments.
Many thanks as always
