ALL GO ACROSS ALL FRONTS😻

Hi All

First of all, apologies for the delay in updates. Can’t believe where the time has gone. Rest assured our projects is moving forward across all fronts. Late spring/ early summer is always a time for consolidation and to assess the results of our winter fieldwork period (we have thousands of camera trap images to go through) and we are already planning for the next field season.

We have had cameras set in new positions and have got some wonderful videos on camera. Just look at this beautiful wildcat, a real privilege to get such a close up view. The Scottish wildcat is still out there in remote areas of Scotland and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. They are living and breeding wild and free and should be protected accordingly.

Our campaign for the Clashindarroch continues and there is good news. You may remember that the council ‘recommended’ that felling stopped. Well that position has changed to the council confirming that all felling has stopped. Our job now is to ensure that it never starts again. Full updates will follow.

We also have some potentially very exciting news about Eve, but as always, we want to make sure before we announce anything. However, we are very optimistic.  

We have also identified some unneutered domestic cats in wildcat areas and we are planning to neuter and disease test them ASAP, to prevent any risk to the resident wildcats.

We haven’t seen Finlay for a while but that is not surprising. At this time of year there is an abundance of food and he will no doubt be enjoying his freedom roaming the forests as nature intended. As we notified you previously, he did show up during the mating season and was caught on camera in very close proximity to Eve. Let us hope that our optimism manifests into little ‘humbugs’.

As you can see there is so much going on and we will update again very soon.
