YOUR COMPASSION HAS BEEN INSPIRING 🙏
Hi All
We wanted to say a massive thank you for all your kind words, blessings, condolences, empathy and compassion, about the tragic passing of Steve Piper. His family and friends have also taken great comfort and indeed pride from your tributes, acknowledging the immense contribution Steve made to Scottish Wildcat conservation. He will be laid to rest next Tuesday and will be having a natural burial. Very fitting indeed.
We are of course still mourning, but we are also galvanised. There is extra energy in our legs and extra fight in our spirits. We now have more cameras set than ever before and in some incredibly remote locations. And as you can see above, Eve is absolutely thriving. We are also formulating a plan that will have a National impact on Wildcat conservation across the Highlands. We are completely revved up and inspired.
More detailed updates will follow after Steve’s funeral. But rest assured, all work streams are moving at pace. Our lawyers are very busy with both the Clasindarroch and Finlay’s case against the police. The Independent Office of Police Conduct are now currently reviewing how the police handled their investigation and our complaint about it. It is very serious indeed. But as we have always said, we will not stop until we get Justice for Finlay. As you know, we don’t forgive and we don’t forget and we never give up. As for Finlay, he is out there somewhere, living the life he was born to lead. But, we have duty to ensure that no animal is ever again subjected to the suffering Finlay endured whilst in police custody. Not on our watch.
So please excuse brevity at this stage and thank you once again for your kindness and compassion. You are all wonderful people and our wildcat heroes.
We will have full updates starting next week, so keep watching.
As always you can support and work and learn more at.
Very best wishes as always
Emily and a mourning but supercharged Wildcat Haven Team
