THE PATH TO VICTORY - CLASHINDARROCH MUST READ

We have been quiet for a few weeks with good reason. As you will no doubt remember, on a recent visit to the Clashindarroch, Vattenfall contractors behaved in a less than welcoming manner towards us, in a desperate attempt to prevent us from reaching and filming a felling site. As you know, that kind of intimidation simply will not work and since then we have increased our efforts significantly.
We have been on site multiple times and have cameras set (as we always have) both to monitor for wildcats, but also to monitor site activity. There are now members of the public from Aberdeenshire, with a range of useful skills such as drone flying, who have taken it upon themselves to collect site information. We know EXACTLY what is happening at the site. We also have someone within the council who is providing us with the most useful information imaginable. Don’t worry, they won’t be identified.
In short, we have been systematically collecting and organising evidence for an upcoming legal challenge. Our solicitors are in full swing and barristers being primed and instructed. Previously, we have provided quite detailed information on our potential legal challenges but this time we are operating differently. We have identified a clear legal route that if successful, will lead to a complete and permanent stop to all work on the Clashindarroch II windfarm.
We have achieved great success over the past 8 years and have prevented huge swathes of prime habitat being felled during the breeding season. Numerous kittens will have been born as a direct result of this and we take great pride in that. You of course, have been fundamental to that success.
However, this time we are aiming for a complete and permanent halt. It is time for the greenwashing, lies, cover ups, evasive tactics and dodgy dealings to stop. Enough is enough. The Clashindarroch belongs to the wildcats and it is time that they got their whole forest back.
We are working flat out with a steely determination. We will of course inform you when our legal challenge is launched, but until then, much like the wildcat, we remain in stealth mode for benefit of those wildcats.
The forest and the precious wildcats are still there, and so are we, backed by every one of you. Look at the picture, look at that magical face of a Clashindarroch wildcat. So precious, so innocent. That is why we fight.
We will provide updates as soon as tactically possible, but we don’t want the agency/agencies to even get a hint of the type of legal barrage they will soon face. We will be relentless in our pursuit until the job is done and this madness of destroying critical wildcat habitat, is stopped once and for all.
We never stop our fight for the Scottish wildcat, so whenever we go quiet for a little while, take it is a sign that something significant is about to happen.
