Wow, it is clear that you are as determined as we are to continue the fight for the Clashindarroch. Thanks to your support, our team of lawyers have been working hard and have found a legal mechanism to stop the logging. This will be pursued with vigour. Remember, we have had 7 uninterrupted breeding seasons, we have acted as soon as we noticed logging and the area cleared is currently negligible. We need to keep it that way and we will do all we can to achieve this.
We will not allow the magnificent Clashindarroch wildcats to be betrayed by the very entities that claim to and indeed are duty bound to protect them (Scottish Ministers, Forest and Land Scotland and Nature Scot). It is time to apply maximum legal pressure and win this fight once and for all. We will have a full legal update next week.
In other news, the kittens continue to thrive and when we get chance we will put together a compilation of the best videos and images. We have been going through the footage and they fill our hearts with such joy. Their beautiful mother Eve, has done a tremendous job. This is one of best images we have ever capture on a wildlife camera. There is no other way to describe it other than a ‘flying kitten’. The more you look at the picture the more wonderful it is. It has launched itself through the air and just look at the way its paws are tucked in as it ‘flies’. Look at how focussed the eyes are, full of excitement and exuberance. These magic moments make everything we do worthwhile. We fight so that scenes like these (almost always unseen) can continue to occur, in the remote forests and of the Highlands. Every glimpse and insight we get is a privilege. Wild and free and living life to the full.
Autumn is well under way and winter will soon be here. This is our peak monitoring time so we look forward to sharing more footage with you as we get it.
